20 October 2025 is International Mastocytosis and Mast Cell Diseases Awareness Day!
This year's theme, ‘BE INFORMED – BE CONNECTED,’ highlights the importance of knowledge, networking, and community.
Thanks to the support of Blueprint Medicines, Cogent Biosciences, and RARE Revolution Magazine, we are able to publish information sheets, patient survey results, and physician interviews with detailed information.
Starting on Awareness Day, we will also be publishing new resources and stories in the weeks that follow.

Mast cells play a crucial role in the immune system. They are found throughout the body, particularly in tissues that interact with the outside world, such as the skin, lungs and gastrointestinal tract.
When activated by a trigger, mast cells release over 200 mediators—including histamine, prostaglandins, and leukotrienes—that can affect many body systems. In mast cell disorders, these cells do not behave normally, leading to heightened or unpredictable reactions.
